Even those who aren't familiar with the fashion industry may know the name Rick Owens, whose dark, dystopian garments are eclipsed in theatricality only by his affinity for bizarre, headline-making runway gimmicks. Example: Around this time last year, you may have received a highly concerned email from your mom, asking whether exposed penises are about to become a fashion trend.

Today's presentation at Paris Fashion Week proved no different. Owens dressed his models in giant spherical cocoons of hair, which his stylist reportedly created by inflating balloons and then popping them just before a model put them on.
