The Gucci Dress That’s Been Everywhere This Season

This season, there's been one dress that's not only been ubiquitous on the spring magazine covers, but on the red carpet as well. When Vogue UK dressed Edie Campbell, when Dakota Johnson appeared on The Tonight Show, and when Elle outfitted Rooney Mara, they all went to one dress from one designer: Gucci.

The dress in question, plucked from the colorful spring 2016 collection, is pink, sparkly, and ruffled. It's feminine in an almost clownish way, and makes the wearer look like a cartoon version of themselves.

Needless to say, it's an attention-getter, and not because of the plunging neckline. The dress requires a certain kind of energetic and playful attitude towards fashion to pull off, which feels fitting for rising stars like Lottie Moss, Rooney Mara, and Dakota Johnson.

So far, the exact iteration has appeared on no less than three spring magazine covers. Meanwhile, Marie Claire dressed Lily James in a slightly different iteration for its January issue, and Florence Welch and Nicole Kidman both wore similar dresses from the same collection at the Grammys and the SAG Awards, respectively. Bonus: Beyoncé wore Gucci spring 2016 in the "Formation" video.

We'll keep you posted the next time it (inevitably) makes an appearance, and should the cavalcade of celebrities wearing the dress convince you to buy one for yourself, it's currently on sale for a mere $5,500.
