Here's French Roots: Two Cooks, Two Countries, and the Beautiful Food along the Way, a new cookbook from Jean-Pierre and Denise Moullé. Jean-Pierre was the executive chef at Berkeley landmark Chez Panisse for decades — starting in 1975 as Jeremiah Tower's sous chef and retiring in 2012 — while Denise comes from a long line of Bordeaux winemakers and has made a career in the wine industry. The book traces the couple's history from France to California and includes recipes from the cuisines of both, as well as a guide to the wines of Bordeaux. French Roots is out now from Ten Speed (order on Amazon.)
