A Dora Pie, a new pie shop from Christopher Blue and wife Jessica Steeve of Chocolatier Blue, has opened at 1966 University Ave in Berkeley in the old Slow space. As an investor in the now-closed Slow, Blue already had rights to the space, including a reasonable lease and a liquor license, making it a quick and easy turnaround. For now pie-lovers can drop in for a sweet slice for $7 or a whole pie for $35. Lemon meringue, chocolate silk, banana cream, pumpkin and pecan are all currently in rotation. Once they’ve ironed out the kinks, Blue and Steeve plan to open up for dinner service, with savory pies, beer and wine.

Plans for ice cream to top pie, and whip up floats are also in the works. For now, the spot is open from 10am-7pm, with dinner service TBA.
