Duende Chef Will Riff in the Kitchen with Live Band

In the "sounds so crazy it might be the coolest thing ever" category, chef Paul Canales will be transforming his kitchen at Duende into a music-fueled improvisational culinary workshop for one night only. In two sets (8 and 9:15 p.m.) on Monday, March 25 at , Canales (a musician himself) will be accompanied by the Acá Trio, an electro-acoustic ambient jazz group that describes their sound as "futuristic and hyper-real, while at the same time retaining an earthy quality."

Images of Canales cooking will be projected above the band as they perform, and a live feed of their music will be piped into the kitchen, creating a symbiotic improvisational conversation with each art form feeding into the other. Canales already considers his food to be "culinary improvisation," so marrying it with musical improvisation makes sense—though after checking out Acá's soundscapes, we imagine the performance will be more surreal than sensible.
