HAYES VALLEYBoba Guys owners Andrew Chau and Bin Chen are building a 1,000-square-feet store in the upcoming 8 Octavia building (where sake bar True Cup will also be), which will make it their third spot. The Guys plan to make it their flagship location, with Asian toast and other pastries also on the menu. It should be open by the end of the year. [Hoodline]

OAKLANDPal’s Takeaway is headed across the bay to open in the Hive space (where Calavera, Drake’s Dealership and more are) as part of a collaboration with Firebrand Artisan Breads, which will also open there in a 5,000-square-feet space,. Unfortunately that means that owner Jeff Mason is most likely closing the Mission location, but he has yet to decide. The new spot is set to open before Thanksgiving. [Inside Scoop]

PACIFIC HEIGHTS — Pending approval from the Planning Commission, Blue Bottle Coffee plans to open a new location that would combine the former Tully’s Coffee and Juicy News storefronts. The decision is set for October 15. [SocketSite]

BERKELEY — Moving into its first brick-and-mortar location is Brittany Crêpes and Galettes at 913 University Avenue in Berkeley. The expanded menu from chef/owner Laurent Be Barbier and his wife will include crepes, soups, salads, charcuterie and ice cream desserts once it opens in November. [Berkeleyside]
