Designer Alexander Wang Lists His Chic Tribeca Loft for $3.75M

The hip downtown designer wants to sell his hip downtown loft

After six years in a huge loft in a landmarked Tribeca building, designer Alexander Wang is moving on. Wang purchased the apartment for $2 million in 2010 from noted fashion writer Holly Brubach, gave it a gut renovation, and is now looking for a modest profit—he's listed the place for $3.75 million.

As for that gut renovation, it's very, well, Alexander Wang: He brought in decorator Ryan Korban to work on the overhaul, and the resulting design is minimalist, chic, and dominated by the color black—much like Wang's clothes. Even the floors have been stained black; per the listing, this creates a "dramatic interplay" with the spare white walls. (No word on whether the fur-covered armchair and wall o'mirrors will be left there for the next resident, though we're guessing not.)

As for the particulars, the one-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment measures more than 2,000 square feet, and true to its Tribeca location, it's arranged as a large, open loft with high ceilings. The building itself dates back to 1866, and was used as a "store-and-loft" space, per the LPC, until it was converted into apartments.
