It's been awhile since we've heard about Turnstyle, the underground shopping complex coming to the massive Columbus Circle subway station—to put that in context, Kate Spade Saturday was the last publicly rumored tenant (RIP). But now, some propulsion: The Real Deal reports that, with a new joint-venture partner and a round of funding, construction is slated to begin next month on the 15,000-square-foot project.

That puts the expected opening date for these 34 retail spots right around the end of 2015, and 75% of these have already been filled. Just a few brands have been confirmed thus far, not including some of the food court tenants near 57th Street.

The project could likely attract tenants who are priced out of nearby locations like The Shops at Columbus Circle—at about $300 per square foot, annual rent here would be about half that of similarly-sized spaces in the neighborhood.
