Who says that one of the most upscale department stores in the world can't have a little bit of fun? Barneys New York unveiled its holiday windows along Madison Avenue earlier this week, and just like last year, what they hold is a little bit chilly. The retailer's "Chillin' Out" windows feature a 35-foot wide functioning ice locker where live ice carvers will work daily through New Years Eve, sculpting holiday-themed sculptures out of 20'x30' blocks of ice (wearing Moncler Gamme Blue outerwear designed by Thom Browne, no less.

Other windows include an Ice Castles installation that'll melt and refreeze, shifting shape throughout its weeks-long display; an "Arctic Chase" racetrack with crystal penguins atop Lexus model cars; and a brilliant display from sculptor and artist Dale Chihuly that incorporates 3D-printing, choreographed lighting, and more than 700 pieces of glass.

Get an up-close look at it all in the gallery above, photographed for Racked by Khushbu Shah, before checking it out for yourself in person.
