Summer 2015 Will Likely End Without a Barney's Warehouse Sale in NYC

In case you haven't noticed, our sample sale calendar has a major hole in it. We've been waiting for word of the Barneys Warehouse sale for almost a month now, which usually begins around this time of the month and wraps up over Labor Day weekend. But department store representatives have been mum, and usual sale host Metropolitan Pavilion has nothing on its site indicating its arrival. Meanwhile, the warehouse website has just added a ton of new merchandise.

It might be for the best, anyway: Readers had been reporting increased dissatisfaction with the selection (lots of the brand's private label and collaborations) and the discounts (not higher than 60% off retail prices), especially last year. And it's not like Barneys doesn't have its hands full with the New York City retail scene—we're expecting the downtown flagship to open in just a few months.
