Barneys New York is the next in a chain of companies to take the convenience of online shopping and combine it with the instant gratification of in-store purchasing. Like its online contemporary Net-A-Porter or Uber's new e-commerce program, Barneys will now offer same-day delivery for customers shipping to addresses in Manhattan and Brooklyn, Fashionista reports.

But unlike Net-A-Porter and Uber, however, Barneys is one of the first brick-and-mortar stores to privately take a quick and modern web-based approach to shopping. For a $25 delivery fee, online shoppers can watch their purchases go from in their virtual carts to their real doorsteps in a matter of hours. Specifically, shoppers must order before noon on weekdays to get their goods between 5pm and 8pm, and before 10am on Saturday to receive them between 3pm and 6pm.

This news could help placate the eager finger drumming happening in anticipation of their Chelsea flagship store, which (last we heard) is set to open in early 2016.
