Chinese Designer Wang Tao Opening First U.S. Store in Soho

Though the line has only existed since last September, Taoray Wang, the brand led by Chinese designer Wang Tao, is already expanding to the states: The Real Deal reports that they've signed a lease for the two-story building at 19 Howard Street, sidling up to equally cool neighbors Reformation and Opening Ceremony.

Never heard of Wang Tao or her brand? That may change soon: Her first two collections, which were shown at New York Fashion Week last September and this February, included "great knits in chic neutrals," "terrific oversize coats," and "a minimal approach to eveningwear," according to WWD's review—not bad for a sophomore effort.
