SoulCycle in Brooklyn, a Crazy-Fancy Flywheel, and More Gym Openings

In the beginning of September, it often feels like the only things happening in the world revolve around fash-un. But we can't overlook the fact that a ton of great fitness studios are making moves around the city right now. Aside from Pop Physique, here are a few more to know about:

SoulCycle in Prospect Heights

Commercial Observer reports that the mega-chain has signed on to share a building at 342 Flatbush Avenue with grocery store Union Market, making this its third Brooklyn location. The 3,300-square-foot space will have its own entrance and is expected to open within the next 18 to 24 months (so, not for a while).

Cityrow on the Upper East Side

The rowing gym announced that it'll open its second location on 1409 Third Avenue, at the corner of 80th Street. The new space will have 1,364 square feet on the ground floor and another 1,214 square feet on another level An opening date has yet to be announced; its signage just says "Coming Soon."

Flywheel at Astor Place and in Midtown

Well + Good reports that come December, the city will have not one, but two more Flywheel studios. The location at 51 Astor Place will be its largest to date with more than 70 stadium-seated bikes, while the midtown location (420 Park Avenue, inside the Gansevoort hotel but with its own separate street entrance) will have 56. Both studios will be the first to feature a new instructor-controlled LED lighting system, in which lights around the studio change color to match the intensity of the workout.

Y7 Yoga in Soho

The coolest yoga spot of them all (hello, Drake-themed yoga?!) is moving out of its shared Monster Cycle space and into its own studio at 430 Broome Street, Well + Good reports. Lucky for those who've felt a little cramped on Lafayette Street, this one'll be larger and include a shower.
