ChaiseFitness has a little surprise for its fitness fans in the Financial District — bikes. The studio whose main draw is its "Reinvention Method" that fuses ballet, Pilates, and aerobics with the help of overhead bungee cords and the "chaises" seen above (so, not La-Z-Boys) is including a spacious cycling room with 25 bikes in its newest location that opens next week at 180 Maiden Lane, Well + Good reports.

"[We] want to offer....clients coming here as much as possible, so it can really become a gym they're coming to five times a week and they can change it up throughout," co-owner and former ballerina Rachel Piskin (who co-owns the studio with her mom, aw) told the wellness publication about the space across from the South Street Seaport. "It's definitely our grandest studio yet."

Included in that definition of "grand" is a total 3,000 square feet of studio space to house those stationary bikes, its largest chaise studio at 20 chairs, floor-to-ceiling windows in both exercise rooms, and a full locker room with showers for the first time, Well + Good adds.

Piskin said that the cycling classes will be Chaise-esque because they'll "focus on the posture, the technique, and bring all the elements we focus on on the chair onto the bike." She's also adding a new class here that uses just resistance bands and a mat: "It's a different way of moving, without the chair and bungees, but still all core- and Pilates-based."

Sounds like that could compete with neighborhood newcomer Pure Barre and the more established Karen Lord Pilates, while the cycling studio adds yet another option to a list that includes BFX StudioSoulcycle, and Flowcycle, plus whatever mystery brand pops up at this development.
