Take a Look at the Newest Retail Project Coming to Williamsburg

Williamsburg residents are well aware that Bedford Avenue looks nothing like it did ten years ago, and the changes just keep on coming. There is the retail complex taking over the street's busiest corner by the subway station, Whole Foods is on track to open in spring 2016, and even local business Brooklyn Fox is transforming to provide the ideal lingerie shopping experience.

Now there's a glass monstrosity set to join the fray — no, not the purported Apple store — right around the corner on at 124-136 North 6th Street, The Real Deal reports. According to the permit application that the management company filed with the Department of Buildings, the three-story commercial building will spring from what's currently an empty lot and span more than 20,000 square feet, with retail space on the ground floor.

Further details are still mum, like whether the retail rents will rival that of Bedford Avenue's current median of $347 a square foot (the most expensive price in the borough, but still a far cry from Manhattan) or what shops are planning to take over that space.
