Greg Chait quietly launched The Elder Statesman's winter shop last Saturday, December 12th, after just three weeks of planning. "I've always wanted to be uptown," he told Vogue of his decision his move into Chrome Heart's vacated New York flagship on such short notice.

"I liked the short turnaround because it cut out all of the noise," he continued. "We were like, 'We need this, this, and this, let's focus all of our energy on these components."

The store is located at 159 East 64th Street and — with its brick floors, whitewashed walls, indoor garden, and wood furnishings — maintains the beach-y vibe of The Elder Statesman's West Coast flagship. Chait's first standalone New York City store features cold weather clothing and accessories made specifically for the shop, but most importantly, for its New York-based customer who wants to bundle up in cashmere this winter.

The winter shop will be open until at least February; Monday through Saturday, 10:30am—6:30pm, Sunday 12pm—6pm.
