Elizabeth Street Will Get More Fancy Candles With Cire Trudon

French candlemaker Cire Trudon is opening its first shop in New York City, reports WWD. The brand, which served Louis VIX and the French Court back in the day, is expected to open on Elizabeth Street—the exact address was not specified— in late October.

Although this is Cire Trudon's first permanent location stateside, it previously popped up on Bond Street, in all its Parisian glory, in 2011. This time, it's joining the likes of other fragrance shops and candle purveyors in this pocket of the city, including Le Labo, Fragrance Shop New York, Bond No. 9, MiN New York, Diptyque, and Santa Maria Novella.

The 400-square foot space will be done up in burgundy lacquer with antique mirrors, according to the Cire Trudon managing director Julien Pruvost. As he said to the publication: "We wanted to use just one color given the shop's size—we want people to feel like they're leaving the outside world behind when they step inside."
