Now Hiring: Racked NY Is Looking for Sample Sale Reporters

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Racked New York is looking for sample sale reporters! This is a freelance position that is paid by the post. Responsibilities range from attending sales on opening day, writing up a detailed, full report, checking in on markdowns throughout the week and updating the original post when necessary, staying engaged in the comments section to answer reader questions, and occasionally lineblogging.

The ideal candidate would have a flexible schedule, especially with open availability in the mornings and early afternoons. You should be extremely knowledgeable about New York City's sample sale culture, be able to tell the difference between a good sale and a bad one, turn around quick, clean, accurate reports and photos, and not be intimidated by lines like this. If you think you're right for the job, send an email to ny@racked.com and tell us a little bit about yourself.
