We checked out the situation at the Tory Burch sale at Clothingline this morning, and shoppers should be prepared for battle. There were 250 people in line at the designated opening time of 11am, though Clothingline let shoppers in a little early at 10:15 to accommodate the large crowd. Sunday sales, everyone. We took note of what's inside (there is A LOT) and below is what we discovered.
Walking into the space, you'll see bags first. They're all hung up on the wall (no, you can't take them down), and each style is marked with a price—shoppers can ask for the bag they like at the register. The bags are priced from $95 (for smaller cross-body bags) up to $250.
In the main area, clothes are arranged by size on the walls and circular racks, starting with extra small and 0/2 sizes up to a 12/14 at the back by the shoes. Everything is mixed together. Tees and polos are $45, tops are $85, tunics, cardigans and long sleeve blouses are $95, and sweaters are $115. A Tory tunic is $95 (was $295), an Arielle sweater is $115 (was $275), and a Pamela shirt is also $95 (was $295).
Shorts, skirts and pants are all $85, dresses and caftans are $150. We saw floral Edith shorts for $85 (were $250), a knitted Lexi skirt for $85 (was $425), and a Kendra maxi skirt in multiple colors and prints for $85 (was $450). Leather and suede skirts are $115, and leather and suede dresses and jackets are $250, while regular jackets and blazers are $195. A black leather Maretta dress is $250 (was $995), and a Linley leather skirt is $115 (was $695). A great Perry jacket is $250 (was $1,195).
The priciest items are Noah and Raquel dresses ($450) and evening gowns (also $450). We loved a white Fae gown (was $1,495) and a blue and white Raquel dress (was $1,595). We also saw a white Julia gown (was $795), though we didn't see many sizes left.
The shoes are at the back, and there are several styles shown in the display case. Each person only gets 10 minutes in the shoe area (there is a line to enter) so examine and choose carefully. Sneakers and flat espadrilles are $70, flats and flat sandals are $130, heels and wedges are $150, and booties are $200. Be aware that most customers were making a beeline for the shoe area, so we expect that stock to go the fastest.
Things will be re-stocked, but don't count on favorite styles to last beyond today or tomorrow. Judging by the number of eager shoppers, your best bet is to get there ASAP today or to go early tomorrow or Tuesday, when things will replenished overnight. We'll be checking back on Tuesday to see what the stock status is, so stay tuned.
