Were you suddenly, inexplicably wearing a ton of black this week? Great news: You're (probably) not depressed! For whatever reason, the second week in August saw a massive increase in the number of celebrities dressing like summer goths on the streets of NYC.
While the most plausible explanation involves the fact that the past seven days have been mercifully cooler than the previous few (not to mention way less humid), another is simply that summer goth-hood is a great way to wordlessly express to the world, "I will not wear another crochet crop top and distressed jorts this summer, no I will not."
