Well, this is flattering: Paris department store Le Bon Marché has decided to transform itself into an ode to all things stereotypically "Brooklyn" as part of a pop-up market-slash-exhibit. Starting tomorrow and running through October 17th, stepping into the Left Bank store will seem oddly familiar to New Yorkers, who'll be greeted by the store's interpretation of the borough's fashion ("cool chic"), food ("organic"), and vibe ("creative").

The store has paid similar tribute to countries like Japan and Brazil in the past, but this time they're focusing in on the most easily marketable of New York City's boroughs. For most of the 100 brands chosen from the worlds of fashion, beauty, accessories, home goods, and food, it'll be the first time their products are available in France.

So who were the lucky designers who got shipped across the Atlantic?  Expect to find boho ready-to-wear by Ulla Johnson, Catbird's stacking rings, Baggu totes, Dieppa Restrepo loafers, Kinfolk menswear, Fishs Eddy decor, D.S. & Durga fragrances, and Coral & Tusk stuffed animals. Over in the food market, there'll be Brooklyn Brine pickles, Liddabit sweets, Four & Twenty Blackbirds pie, and, of course, New York Naturals kale chips.

Perhaps soon, we'll know a world where the French will all be clicking on articles entitled "How to Dress Like a Brooklyn Girl."
