The Tory Sport Pop-Up Brings Hamptons Prep to Nolita

If you're looking for Tory Burch on Elizabeth Street these days, you're going to have a hard time finding it. Gone is the eye-catching orange facade that's anchored the middle of the block for the past decade; in its place, baby pink double-doors, blue awnings, and manicured topiary in planters. Tory Sport has arrived.

Today marks the brick-and-mortar retail debut of the billion-dollar fashion brand's activewear collection, and Burch has left out no details in this pop-up that precedes a permanent Flatiron store this spring. The boutique has been transformed into what Burch described in a press release as "a cool, athletic vibe that represents the elegance of sport," adding that old-school country club glamour served as inspiration for the decor. That means you'll find patio furniture in the center of the store, pennants and vintage photos on the walls, and even a vending machine filled with Tory Sport-branded tennis balls, Frisbees, and old sports publications.

In the back of the 1,200-square foot space, cash registers have appropriately been replaced with a monogramming station and vinyl letter press, where anything from leggings to t-shirts to track jackets can be personalized. As for the merchandise itself? Prices start at $55 and go up to $550. Your basic pieces like black running capris go for $95 while low-impact sports bras are $60 — but the fun stuff are pieces like rashguards, pleated tennis skirts, track suits, and the "Coming & Going" items that are meant to be worn before and after a workout, like sweaters and jackets.

Though tennis and golf elements are heavily visible in the collection, that shouldn't stop those looking for new pieces for running, yoga, and high-intensity interval training — or, you know, weekend brunch — from stopping by. The Tory Sport pop-up (a closing date has not been set) is open on weekdays from 11am to 7pm, on Saturdays from 10am to 7pm, and on Sundays from 12pm to 6pm.
