Peek Inside Goop's First-Ever New York City Pop-Up

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Gwyneth Paltrow doesn't let a single detail slip by her. That's why you can feel the Goop-iness of her first NYC Goop Mrkt that opened within The Shops at Columbus Circle yesterday before you even walk in — the outside is covered in faux white brick, as if you weren't walking into a retail space in a shopping mall but a boutique nestled in a townhouse on some out-of-the-way street.

That Goop energy only intensifies once you walk in, where the space designed by Roman and Williams to feel like an expensive apartment. You'll find a kitchen, a powder room, and a living room-slash-salon all housing corresponding products, like organic and all-natural beauty products sprouting out of the powder room's bathtub and racks of clothing that Goop fans will recognize from the site in the salon. Fixtures and furniture that was curated for the market by the design duo is also available for sale.

You'll see all of this as long as you can make it past the rack of Valentino collaboration pieces set in front of a Wonder Woman mural (that $6,950 leather jacket is sold out online, but might still be available here). Green tea and SmartWater is complimentary in the kitchen in the earlier part of the day, and events are running on a near-daily basis — check out the schedule here, and take a peek at the market in the gallery above before stopping by for yourself during its month-long run.
