Jenny Packham's One-Day Bridal Sale Is Full of Dreamy, Pricey Gowns

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This morning we dropped by Jenny Packham's one-day bridal sale, where we found sparkly accessories and bridesmaid and bridal gowns, plus an "under $500" clearance section. Here's what you need to know before you stop by.

Keep in mind that there's a "one-in, one-out" policy, and they won't allow more than 15 or so people in at a time since there are limited dressing rooms and space. When you enter, you'll check your bag and then find jewelry first, on the right hand side. There are $20 clearances bins with silver and black headbands, some with feathery flowers and a few with miniature veils.

The rest of the jewelry is priced as marked. Headdresses are between $100 (for extra small styles) and $300 (for large ones), bracelets are $60 to $100, necklaces are either $75 or $125, and headbands are $75 or $150. Smaller accessories (like earrings and rings, which are scarce) are $65 each.

Dresses and gowns are priced as marked, and are arranged by size starting at zero near the front (size translations are posted, since Packham uses UK sizing). Regular dresses are on the left side of the room, and range from $720 to $3,000. At the back are robes ($150-500) and negligées ($100), as well as a clearance section of dresses for under $500.

Wedding gowns (priced from $675 up to $3,500) are marked with the original and sale price, so you know how much you're saving. There are some stunners, for sure, in all categories, including a pink gown for $2,400 and an ethereal beaded number for $3,500 (was $7,025). Everything is in good condition, though expect items to be a little worn out from being moved throughout the day. There are no holds and a limit of six items per dressing rooms, so pick your pieces carefully.
