We checked out the Badgley Mischka's sample sale preview before the doors opened at 151 Wooster Street at 11am, and if you're a fan of the brand's feminine designs (or just in the market for a luxurious gown), head over to Soho as soon as possible.
This sale's sweet spot—samples of the brand's signature dresses—is directly toward the back of the sale space when you enter. You'll find a veritable gold mine of cocktail dresses ($50), gowns ($100), and separates ($25) in a variety of neutral and bright colors here—check out the gallery for prime examples. Luckily, sizing won't be much of a concern here, as we saw several items between sizes 2 and 12.
Off the to right, you'll see glitzy sequined and beaded couture gowns in plastic covers. Sale prices are 70% off each dress's original price, which isn't always listed on the bag—but staffers are happy to help you in this area. Several of the pieces we picked up ranged in price from $4,325 to $5,000. So even with a 70% markdown, you should still expect to pay upwards of $1,300 in this area.
What you passed in the front of the room while beelining for those samples are $25 separates, including crop tops, shorts, skirts, and pants in sizes 2 through 12. When it comes to this section, make sure to pay close attention: Some items carry notes on the hangers describing small irregularities, like loose beading and stains on some items. Be sure to double-check pricing on these items with sales associates—some of the racks are 70% off retail price (though original tags aren't always included), and others are even more $25 samples.
