The Veda Team Just Launched an Under-$600 Minimalist Bridal Line

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The minimalist bride has been rather spoiled as of late, thanks to a flurry of brands that cater to the simple, unfussy future wives. And now, the design team behind Veda—the makers of your favorite leather jacket, even if you don't own one just yet—has launched a collection for that set as well. Even better news? The dresses come in at under $600.

With its just-debuted collection of four wedding gowns (to be followed by others throughout the year), Locke Bride aims to "strip the wedding dress down to its essentials," the brand told Racked over email. And the dresses aren't just minimalist in design: They're inspired by a host of modern and minimalist works, like Dan Flavin's architecture, Brice Marden's paintings, Raymond Carver's short stories, the new Whitney Museum, as well as the philosophies of John Locke.

Scroll through the gallery to preview the four gowns in the collection thus far, each of which is made in downtown NYC from four-ply silk crepe in wedding white and are available to ship within 30 days. Recreating your very own Man Repeller bridal moment just got way easier.
