For the fourth year in a row, the New York City Ballet has celebrated the fashion-ification of its costumes with a fall gala, "From the Runway to the Ballet." Everyone who wasn't at Paris Fashion Week attended the event last night, which included five ballet performances featuring costumes by Oscar de la Renta creative director Peter Copping, Humberto Leon of Opening Ceremony, Marques Almeida, Zuhair Murad, and Hanako Maeda.

In the spirit of the evening, NYCB board vice chair Sarah Jessica Parker chose a Zuhair Murad gown so shiny that, perhaps if slightly shorter and accompanied by a leotard, could have been onstage. Scroll through the gallery to see the rest of the best looks, plus a bonus photo of a celebrity staircase.
