Update: The Diesel Sample Sale Is Now 90% Off

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Update: As of Saturday morning, discounts have been bumped up to 90% off retail prices on most categories. Belts, small leather goods, leggings, tights, hats, ties and bowties, and jewelry is now $10, and robes and scarves are $25. Original sale prices are reflected below and in the gallery captions above. The sale has also been extended through Sunday evening.

We stopped by the preview of the Diesel sample sale this morning at the C21 Edition Space within Century 21's Financial District store — it's got its own entrance at 21 Dey Street — where we found men's, women's, and kids' apparel spread out over two floors, and at exactly 75% off its retail price. However, doing the math is left up to you, so make sure to have the calculator app ready to go.

Women's and kids' merchandise is on the ground floor, with men's and shoes upstairs. Women's tops and a shelf of accessories, including a black hat with pom-poms ($7.50), are to the right of the door. Jeans are behind the tops and arranged by size from 23 to 32. There's a good selection in all sizes, but a lot of it looks outdated, like a black cargo style ($57).

Another rack of dresses and tops are to the right on the other side of the register, where a denim halter-neck jumpsuit stood out ($82). There is a rack of coats in the center in front of the doors. A multi-colored faux fur jacket ($124.50) was a favorite among shoppers this morning, but we also saw a few plain black styles.

Kids' apparel, women's belts, and handbags are in the left-hand corner of the space. There is also one rack of leather jackets with a few variations. A black studded style with colored detail stood out, and it's marked down to $349.50 from $1,398. For kid's apparel, it's mostly casual tees and pants. There are a few styles of bags and wallets, and we liked a plain black leather tote ($37.50) the most.

Shoes are right in front of the door after heading upstairs. We saw more men's shoes than women's, and it looks like sizes are all mixed together. There are a lot of a hiking boot-inspired shoe for men ($73.75), and dark blue patent leather oxfords for women ($61.25).

Men's tees, sweatshirts, and jeans are to the left. We saw jeans in sizes 26—40, but note that the racks of sizes 26—28 are in the back on the other side of the room by the register. For jackets, we liked a classic denim style ($87) and a red leather hooded style ($199.50). Tee-shirts and coats are by the smaller sizes of jeans. We liked a gray moto-inspired peacoat priced at $323.75 from $1,295. We saw one rack of button-downs, and a few polos as well.

There are fitting rooms located on both floors — just ask a sales associate to point you in the right direction. The sale runs through Saturday at 9pm Sunday at 6pm, so check out the Dealfeed below for more details about when you can stop by.
