Ralph Lauren Is Opening Near J. Crew in Williamsburg

It was only a matter of time before Ralph Lauren decided it had had enough of the equestrian painting-appreciating, $400-glasses-of-cognac-drinking denizens of Midtown and fixed its eyes across the river. And where do the big fancy brands go when they want to come to Brooklyn? Williamsburg, of course!

Two separate tipsters tell us that Ralph Lauren is opening a store on North 3rd Street and Wythe Avenue, just one block south of J. Crew in the old home of shoe shop BK Soula. Though the facade is boarded up, there's a giant RL logo painted over it:

No word when the store will open (or if, like J Crew, it will release a tote bag with all the Williamsburg-iest spots in the neighborhood), but we've reached out for information and will update when we hear back.
