Where to Get in Shape for Your Wedding in One Month or One Year

Welcome to a special Weddings Week edition of Workout Wednesday: every hump-day, we'll be rounding up some of the city's hottest fitness trends and studios.

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

For brides-to-be, the weeks leading up to the wedding day are full of last-minute planning—oh, and anxiety over what you'll look like in the approximately one billion wedding photos you'll be taking. And if you're looking to tone up or shed a few pounds before heading down the aisle, the first thing a trainer will ask you is: "When's the big day?"

How much time you have before you walk down the aisle will have a huge influence on the workouts you'll do, not to mention how frequently you'll do them. Luckily, New York City's ever-expanding fitness scene means that there's plenty of studios offering wedding workout packages—and to simplify the process of finding your perfect fitness regimen, we've broken down the city's nine best bridal programs by length, starting with where to get a quick fix and ending with the long hauls.

Six Weeks or Less

NY Personal Training

Program: NYPT's BuffBride "Wedding Workout Boot Camp" sets individual goals for each dress fitting and the wedding day. All BuffBride training packages include a nutrition plan, monthly body composition analysis, and 24/7 access to cardio machines. If your day is fast approaching (or you're eloping), go for the ShotgunSolution package, a total immersion workout plan that can be as short as a week or as long(ish) as a month.

Got a little more time? Try their FirstFitting Challenge and train three times a week for eight weeks before your first dress fitting to earn a 10% discount on packages leading up to the wedding day. If you have plenty of time (four months or more) before the big day, the UltimateBride option prepares you far in advance with a few personal training package options.

Cost: FirstFitting: $2,160—$3,000; ShotgunSolution: $450—$2,200; UltimateBride: $720—$2,200.

Location: 12 West 21st Street, Flatiron

Uplift Studios

Program: The women-only Uplift Studios has three levels in their "Fit-to-be-Tied" bridal programs. For those in a rush, the one-month "Whip Up" program includes three private sessions per week with a trainer, plus four Uplift studio classes.

There's also the three-month "Tune Up," with two private sessions per week and eight Uplift studio classes, and the six-month "Shape Up" has two private training sessions a week, with 12 Uplift classes included.

Cost: Whip Up: $1,350; Tune Up: $2,650, Shape Up: $5,100.

Exhale Mind Body Spa

Program: Choose between six or 12 weeks of bridal workouts and pampering. Both programs include unlimited Core Fusion classes (that's yoga, barre, or cardio/HIIT), a weekly check-in to keep you on track for achieving your goals, three facials, a signature Fusion Massage, and a complimentary group Core Fusion class for the bride and her friends.

The 12-week program also includes an extra facial and a nutritional consultation session. Brides also get 20% off a Rent the Runway rental and 20% off a BluePrintCleanse juice package with either program.

Cost: $680 for six weeks, or $975 for 12 weeks (both packages are 20% off for Exhale members)

Right Around Three Months

FitBrides Boot Camp

Program: The 12-week outdoor bootcamp program offers flexibility and resistance training, cardio, agility drills, core training, and calisthenics—so bottom line, you won't be taking it easy during these sessions.

If you prefer to go solo, sign up for 12 weeks of personal training, which includes customized workouts, nutritional counseling, and fitness assessments to ensure you're reaching your goals.

Cost: Choose to do between one and five sessions a week for the 12-week duration of either program; call for pricing information (917-549-8998).

Physique 57

Program: The "Fit To Be Wed" bridal membership has major perks, aside from the sweaty part—three months of unlimited classes at any studio, two friend passes, and two weeks of unlimited online workouts, in case you're traveling. You'll also get $400 off a wedding gown and $50 off accessories at Kleinfeld's, 50% off a hair and makeup trial at Once Upon a Bride, and 15% off at Journelle.

You can also opt to take their Bridal Challenge—four classes per week for four consecutive weeks—within your membership, and get 15% off your next 20-class pack purchase upon completion.

Six Months or More

Mind Over Matter NYC

Program: Chose from three customized workouts to target what you want to work on the most. The "J. Lo" package focuses on the lower body: glutes inner and outer thighs, and hamstrings. The "Madonna" works the upper body with biceps, triceps and shoulders for those wearing strapless and sleeveless gowns. The "Fergie" package aims at abs, back, and chest.

Mind Over Matter also offers packages for grooms, too—marriage is a partnership, after all. Your program length will vary depending on your goals.

Cost: Call for pricing information (212-865-9290).

Location: 126 West 96th Street, Upper West Side

Molly Winter Fitness

Program: If you're looking for a major overhaul before wedding day, Molly Winter's customized six-month program is designed for the dress the bride has chosen—workouts are even scheduled around fittings. Twice- or thrice-weekly sessions consist of activities like resistance and circuit training, TRX, mixed martial arts, dance cardio, and yoga.

The package also includes nutritional consultations, so you know you won't be undoing your hard work with eating habits before the big day. Winter also offers two- and four-month programs.

Cost: Starts at $4,000—contact for more information.

Location: Private workouts available at residential gyms or at private home gyms in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Swerve

Program: The cycling studio's bridal package is by far the longest—perfect for those who like to plan ahead. The wedding package offers 12 months of unlimited access to rides, plus a free bridal party ride and 15% off cycling shoes.

The best part? Sign up with your fiancé, or maid of honor, or even a random wedding guest who is down to cycle, and you'll each save $45 a month.

Cost: $295 per month for a solo bride; $250 per month for a pair.

Location: 30 West 18th Street, Flatiron
