The Asics Warehouse Sale Has Bright Colors and Lightweight Gear

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

November is upon us, and the Asics warehouse sale at 260 Fifth Avenue is full of lightweight workout gear that's still weather-appropriate, at least for now. Brightly-colored shorts, tees, and tank tops dominated the selection that we previewed last night before doors opened to the public today at 9am, where everything except for shoes is $35 or less.

Men's clothing is on the left, while women's clothing is in the middle of the floor. Shoes and bins of socks are in the back, with a few bins of kids' sneakers mixed in. Gear and bags are in bins on the way to the checkout. There are lots of sizes and colors available for all styles. Dressing rooms are in the back by the shoes.

The women's sneakers are very bright with lots of neon, with a few plain, orthopedic-looking black pairs mixed in. Prices are designated by blue and green ties holding the pairs together; blue means $60, while green is $50. Sizes run from 5 to 12, though 8.5 and above is most common. The socks in bins are all $5, and all sizes appeared to be well stocked.

Colorways for the men's sneakers were more subdued, with just a few neon styles popping up throughout. The same blue/green price categories apply and sizes run from 7.5 up to 13.5. Kid's styles are in the back, and are all $20.

In apparel, there are plenty of running shorts, tee-shirts, and tank tops for women. You'll find mesh and cotton long-sleeved shirts in an astounding array of colors are going for $25. There are a few half-zip jackets sprinkled in, and one rack of vests for $35.

But if you were hoping to stock up on sports bras or spandex items, however, you won't find much — there were about ten sports bras total for $17 each, and we were told that they were most likely not going to be restocked. There was also just one style of spandex shorts for $15, and a rack of capris for $20. We were told that there are leggings in back stock, but it was not known when they are going to be brought up.

The men are luckier when it comes to full-length clothing. There is one rack full of running tights and sweatpants for $25, and lots of hoodies and half-zips for $35. Cotton tees are the most abundant style, and there are plenty of colors and sizes from XS-2XL for just $6. Shorts are going for $15, while sleeveless tops are $13. There's also a rack of vests for $35.

The New York City Marathon styles are limited in stock, so if you're hoping to score a piece, we suggest heading in early. The jackets and hoodies are $35, and long-sleeved tees are $25. There is also one (adorable) kid's tee-shirt style for $8.

Running gear like hats, headbands, knit gloves, texting gloves, wristbands, and sleeves are all going for $5. There is also a bin of white golf visors, and another with backpacks that are going for $10.

The sale runs through Saturday at 7pm; heck out the Dealfeed below for more details.
