Where will they go next? FAO Schwarz exited its Fifth Avenue home last month with plans to move to a new home just north of Times Square, but the Commercial Observer reports that negotiations for the space at 1633 Broadway have just fallen through. The 40,000-square foot space with a rental price tag of $4 million is now back on the market.

Though the iconic toy store had never confirmed the much-rumored discussions for this location, which was expected to be up and running for the 2016 holiday season, it sounded pretty sure of itself just before its July shutter. "As our toy soldiers prepare to close the doors to our Fifth Avenue residence, we look forward to greeting you to the sound of 'Chopsticks' on the BIG Piano at our new home," a large sign in the window titled "See You Soon From FAO Schwarz" read. "We'll announce when and where that will be as soon as we can."

While FAO scouts a new location—presumably not just in New Jersey—its old home at 767 Fifth Avenue is preparing for Apple's temporary residence, before the address is most likely divided up for smaller stores.
