The Moleskine Sample Sale Is More Colorful and Just as Cheap as Last Time (Update)

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Update: If you're reading this it's too late — the sale sold out this afternoon, so Monday's hours have been cancelled. See our original report below.

If you fancy yourself the kind of person who scribbles their to-do lists in charming notebooks, you'll be pleased with the selection at the Moleskine sample sale. We checked it out a few minutes before the doors opened this morning in the company's Chelsea office and found that it was well stocked with pocket ($3), large ($5), and extra-large notebooks ($7) in an array of colors — definitely more than last time.

There were tons of Evernote journals (you can take a photo of any page in this book with the accompanying app, and it instantly becomes digitized) along with all four of the city notebooks and the restaurant, wellness, art, and dog "passion" journals; check them all out in the gallery above.

A few of the limited-edition Peanuts and Le Petit Prince 2016 planners are for sale, too. You can also expect to find covers for iPads and laptops, as well as bags. Bonus: You're allowed to take a free notebook from a designated stash with any purchase.

It's a bit of a walk from the new Hudson Yards stop on the 7 train, but that didn't stop the 25 or so people we saw waiting for the sale to start when we were leaving this morning. The sale ends today at 5pm and returns after the weekend for another few hours, but you might want to make an effort to head west today — sales staff told us that there won't be any restocking. Check out the Dealfeed below for more details.
