H&M's Latest Manhattan Store, Next to Eataly, Could Open This Year

While Brookfield Place has been up and running for a few months now, retail activity around the World Trade Center has been a bit slower off the starting blocks. But as sources for the New York Post reports, H&M and Eataly look like they'll be the ones kicking things off with reported pre-Christmas openings at 4 World Trade Center. The Italian marketplace, which first put up signage almost a year ago, had previously hit construction delays but is now building out in full force.

On the second floor is where H&M will supposedly go; whether or not it'll be an outlet store, as we previously reported, has yet to be answered. As usual, it's been a year of rapid retail change for the Swedish fast fashion giant, who closed two of its three Fifth Avenue stores earlier this year and opened its largest store ever in Herald Square across the street from a location that'll eventually shutter.
