The Financial District is seriously giving Flatiron a run for its title as fittest neighborhood. Earlier this week, Physique 57 announced to its clients in an email blast that its fourth New York City studio will open there in January. An address wasn't specified, but Well + Good says it'll be at 55 Broadway and include features like a signature scent, a big lounge area, and customized lighting to accompany specific types of classes.

Since this feels like the one millionth fitness studio (give or take a few) that's staked claim to the Financial District in the past year or so, here's a handy rundown of the myriad places you can get sweaty below Soho:

Surprising exactly no one, Soulcycle was one of the first big studios to make its way here, opening on Maiden Lane last November. But they weren't the first ones to bring bikes downtown: Flow Cycle had already been rolling since the summer of 2014.

Shortly after, Equinox opened at Brookfield Place, and its cheaper sister Blink Fitness came later on nearby Nassau Street. These multi-purpose gyms joined the likes of Crunch, Planet Fitness, New York Health and Racquet Club, and the UFC Gym.

Smaller fancy fitness studios then followed, including BFX on Broad Street and Pure Barre on Pine Street. Most recently, ChaiseFitness joined the fray, surprising everyone with the addition of cycling to its traditionally Pilates-based class roster.

And there's definitely more studios on the way, as this rendering of One Wall Street easily gives away. We wouldn't be surprised to see the ever-expanding Barry's Bootcamp or popular gyms like Flywheel Sports and Exhale making announcements shortly.
