The Charm & Chain Sample Sale Is a Destination for Expensive Sparklers

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The Charm & Chain sample sale that opened at 611 Broadway this morning reads like your overly-accessorized best friend, where more is always more. Once you sign in at the lobby security desk, take the elevator up to the 8th floor and locate suite 816 to sift through costume jewelry that's up to 80% off — though it's more likely that what you'll want to walk away with is only 20% off.

You'll find that the showroom isn't quite set up like a typical bare-bones sample sale — jewelry is neatly arranged on mirrored plates and mannequin heads. Immediately on your left from the entrance is an area full of statement jewelry that's 20% off what's listed on the price tag. We spotted a Kendra Scott bangle for $140, a Dolris Petunia necklace for $300, and a 20s-inspired Lulu Frost hair piece among the sparklers before moving into the main part of the sale.

The large room is organized by designer and price tags are labeled with colored dots that correspond to the discount. A green dot means it's 20% off, while red is 40% off, blue is 60% off, and black is 80% off; price lists posted all over the room will remind you of these savings.

There is a vast selection of Lulu Frost necklaces ($150), earrings ($152.50), and pins ($49.50). The Lele Sadoughi selection is easy to shop, as pieces are sectioned off into different price points that are labeled at the bottom of the table. There are also a few pieces from House of Harlow, Vita Fede, Gorjana. Along the back wall are two plastic bins filled with jewelry for $5 and $10, respectively. Click through the gallery above to see some of our favorites.

The standout pieces aren't cheap, but those looking for trendy gifts or even an accessory or two for themselves for the holiday party circuit won't be disappointed. Check out the Dealfeed below for the sale's details.
