Despite the fact that it hasn't even officially begun yet, there's already a contender for the hottest accessory at New York Fashion Week Spring 2016: Piercings. According to one East Village piercing artist, fashion girls are lining up in droves to fit in last-minute appointments.

WWD reports that J. Colby Smith of New York Adorned says that every fashion week, he sees about a 40% spike in business—bigger than that of the holiday season—thanks to editors, designers, makeup artists and other fashion professionals clamoring for appointments.

"I have to take a big breath before [fashion week] because I know it's coming and I can feel the energy changing," Smith told the publication. "I know it's about to hit like a waiter before a 5pm shift." He even posted an announcement to his nearly 14,000 Instagram followers, saying, "Attn NY Fashion Weekers: If you would like work done, plan ahead as time is booking up fast." Noted.
