Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The Lower East Side (temporarily) lost one leather haven earlier this year, but once Carolina Sarria opens at 149 Ludlow, balance shall finally be restored to the neighborhood. Bowery Boogie spotted the designer's signage at the address, which was previously home to indie boutique Blessed Peacemakers.

Luckily for Sarria, though this stretch of Ludlow Street had suffered from four years of construction and ugly scaffolding, work finally wrapped up as of a few months ago. The Colombian-born womenswear designer's aesthetic will likely fit in well with its neighbors Assembly New York, Frankie, and Reformation — current collections include 80's-esque patent leather jackets and mini-dresses that look like they'd be worn by the "Bad Blood" squad. No word on an opening date just yet, but it could be any day now.
