Versace's Private Sample Sale Is Now Public, and Ending Today (Update)

Given today's weather forecast, let's hope there isn't an epic line outside of the Versace sample sale that's now open to the public. Mizhattan reports that the invite-only event that began on Monday dropped its guest list yesterday afternoon, and now anyone is welcome to shop at the brand's 3 Columbus Circle headquarters before it wraps up this evening.

The shopping blogger says that the atelier couture gowns are the most expensive items at $500 apiece, which is seriously a great deal, and there's a mix of past seasons from Versace, Versus Versace, and Gianni for all clothing categories. In the accessories area, shoes are between $50 and $100 and handbags are $200, but you'll need to be especially careful of damages.

You'll also find tees for $20, pants and skirts for $50, sweaters for $75, dresses for $150, and jackets for between $100 and $300 depending on weight and material (fur and leather are included in the mix). Plenty of menswear is available, too, at roughly the same prices for women's in comparable categories, plus two-piece suits for $250 —or at least that's what you would have paid for these items yesterday.

Sample Sally weighed in on this sale as well, bringing along both good and bad news: These prices have reportedly been cut in half for the sale's final day, but instances of damages are rampant. "This is truly a sample sale with goods having some sort of damage such as bags with marks, tears, or missing beads," her source said. "Shoes look like they have been worn either for runways or photoshoots." There also won't be any restocking.

We've got conflicting word on when this sale actually ends — Mizhattan says 6pm, but Sally says 5pm; if you're a big brand (or Drake) fan, you might want to play it safe and go early.
