Two big designer names have made their way to New York City this week—and while it's a stateside debut for one, it's a triumphant return for the other. WWD reports that Moschino is now open at 73 Wooster Street, just across from Band of Outsiders' former home, eight months after it was initially announced. Naturally, it's got creative director Jeremy Scott's wacky influences written all over it.

That includes the giant pair of shoes seen above that act as both a display for shoes and a seat for trying them on, hanging clothing on giant hangers, and displaying handbags on shelves carved within an oversized handbag. Hm, we see a theme here...

"I wanted very high ceilings and an open-space loft so I can create large installations and fixtures and have it rotating, like a gallery would if you had sculptures," Scott explained to the paper when first envisioning the 3,500-square foot space. "It's something to put a smile on your face and unexpected. You want to have your picture taken in it." We wouldn't be surprised to find brand fan Miley Cyrus or ambassador Katy Perry doing just that in the coming days. Pre-Scott, Moschino maintained a storefront on West 14th Street; it's now occupied by The Kooples.

Meanwhile, the uptown crowd is welcome Gianvito Rossi to town for the very first time (our prayers have been answered!). WWD writes that the Italian footwear brand is joining the likes of Diptyque, Nanette Lepore, and Carolina Herrera with its first US store on the corner of Madison Avenue and 75th Street. "New York is the city where I spend most of my time in the States—I've been coming here since I was a kid," Rossi told the paper. "It's an important step for the brand. I'm happy that I can show the complete collection in its natural habitat now."

To celebrate the debut here, the Italian brand is offering a limited-edition version—like, really limited, since there's just 50 pairs available—of its Plexi clear pump adorned with an American flag for $745. "I think it's nice to pay homage to a country when you open a store," Rossi added. The shoe's bright colors are a stark contrast to the store's interior, which relies heavily on a soft pink shade that matches shoes' inner soles.
