The Helmut Lang and Theory Sample Sale Has Even More Markdowns

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The prices at the the Helmut Lang and Theory sale have been reduced even further, so we stopped by today to check out what was still left and the condition the pieces were in. In our initial sale report, we noted that many of the pieces in the sale were marked as damaged—some with minor, fixable defects and others with holes or tears that would cost you to fix. Today, we were happy to see that there was a variety of pieces and sizes left, and of the damaged pieces, some of the recorded damages were hardly noticeable, and very fixable.

Of the Theory denim jackets ($63 from $415), there were mostly petite and small sizes left in the lighter wash, with almost none left in the dark wash. One of the jackets was damaged (there was a pull on the sleeve), though the denim already looked slightly distressed, so it wasn't very noticeable. There was one large left of the light wash, and one medium (which we may or may not have purchased upon leaving—sorry!). The most selection and sizes left of undamaged goods was in tops for both brands. We particularly liked a white long sleeve Theory top for $35, down from from $235, which is still left in all sizes, and a denim-like, soft, long sleeve Helmut Lang top for $35 from $175, but it's only in extra-small.

Over in dresses, Theory had a larger selection than Helmut Lang in terms of sizes and styles. We particularly liked three summery white dresses, one of which was damaged and two that were not. All dresses were $49. We also found a white pair of Helmut Lang joggers that were returned by the buyer and labeled as "pilled," though, we didn't notice. They were $49, down from $920. The sale ends tomorrow at 7pm, so head in while you can, but keep a close eye out for what can be fixed and what can't.
