You'd expect to find a specialty Hermès store in a mall luxury shopping center like Brookfield Place, but what about in the mega-complex that'll be the East Coast's answer to the Mall of America? According to WWD, that's exactly where the French brand is headed next: They'll be taking 8,000 square feet across two stories in the American Dream Mall, sitting directly across from Saks Fifth Avenue in what the paper calls the "luxury court."

"You can buy anything online, so people need a reason to go shopping," Hermès USA president and CEO Robert Chavez said. "Plus, the location is so central and the population numbers unbelievable" (Mall developers say that there's 21 million residents within a 50-mile radius to Rutherford, New Jersey). This will replace the brand's store in Hackensack and is expected to open two years from now.
