Need an easy home upgrade? Head to the Frette sample sale at Chelsea Market, which just opened this morning. We dropped yesterday to preview the hugely discounted luxury bedding and linens selection, with high-quality sheet sets going for almost 90% off retail prices. We were told that there's much more merchandise than what's currently on display—plan to bring a large bag (or helpful friend) to carry out your haul.
Bath towels ($20), hand towels ($5), and washcloths ($2) line the lefthand wall, as well as bath mats for $15 and bath sheets for $30. A few shelves nearby have some pretty expensive accessories, like a leather beauty case for $199 (was $295), a cashmere hat and scarf set for $249 (was $495), and a men's dopp kit for $299 (was $495). Large weekend bags are also here for $399 (were $995).
Further back, find pillows of all sorts for $59. Queen duvet covers are $259 to $699 depending on the original price. Queen sheet sets are $169 to $269 (down from up to $1,500 originally). King duvet covers are $279, while sheet sets are $179 to $279. A California king sheet set is $259 (was $600).
We also found throws for $399, pillowcases for $29 apiece, men's and women's velvet and viscose slippers for $139, and leather slippers (!!) for $189. Decorative pillows, along the right wall, are $89 to $120, depending on size. You'll find quilts at the front—they've got everything from recently-released styles to limited-edition pieces, priced from $449 to $699. If you think that sounds expensive, just look at the original prices: A gold quilt for $699 was originally $4,325.
