Maryam Nassir Zadeh's Showroom Sale Has $80 Isabel Marant Shoes

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We dropped into Maryam Nassir Zadeh's showroom sample sale this morning, alongside some very enthusiastic shoppers, to see what was available at this rare event. If you're looking for shoes—styles that you can wear now and stash in your closet for later from Dieppa Restreppo and Isabel Marant are both available—and one-off samples from the likes of Carven, Marni, and Zadeh's house label, then you've come to the right place.

When you enter the fifth floor of 273 Grand Street, you'll find bags and accessories in the center of the room, with clothes and shoes spread out on either side. In the middle, we noticed a red Lizzy Disney envelope bag for $50 (was $132), necklaces for as low as $20, and bangles near the cash register for $40 each.

On the racks, we were drawn to the summer styles, like Suzanne Rae's tan shorts for $90 (were $299), button-down short sleeve shirt for $48 (was $240) and white silk top for $104 (was $345).

For more fall/winter season items, we liked a pink shearling Hache coat for $700 (was $2,245), a Ter Et Batine tweed dress for $200 (was $770) and a pale pink "thinsulate" jacket for $140 (was $405). Note that a lot of pieces are the sample size 0/2; and while we found items up to the occasional size 8, don't expect to find an abundance of sizes for any one item.

Shoes were priced from $40 to $250. One-off pairs were often size d7 or 8, while styles like Vayarta flats ($100) came in many sizes for both women and men. In the "buy now, wear later" category, we noted Luisa brick calf boots for $200, Isabel Marant velvet Arapaho shoes for $80, Isabel Marant pony pumps for $200, and Riudavets shoes in dozens of colors for $110.

Employees were bringing in a few more bags when we arrived, but once everything is set out that's all the stock there is. The bottom line is that you should head in quickly if anything here piqued your interest, since merchandise was already being depleted in the sale's first hours.
