Customized Lipsticks at Rouge's Newest Location Are Here to Save the Holidays

The best thing about makeup salon Rouge New York's newest location that debuted on the Upper East Side earlier this month isn't its glossy glam stations, or its monthly unlimited memberships, or the thousands of lipsticks used to create its entryway art (though maybe that's the second-best thing). It's that you can create a customized lipstick, thanks to a collaboration with Giella Cosmetics, in just minutes — if that doesn't scream "perfect last-minute present" to you, then we don't know what does.

Both color and texture are able to be adjusted at what's dubbed the Bespoke Beauty Bar, so you can recreate your mom's favorite discontinued red shade, or make a more moisturized version of the lipstick that your friend loves but complains of drying out her lips. It'll set you back $30, which is about the same as a lipstick from a high-end cosmetics line. Or you could go for the Lipscription, which will automatically send your loved one a custom shade based on current beauty trends for times a year.

Lipsticks are just the beginning from the beauty bar — coming up, Rouge plans to add customized nail colors, face masks, and fragrances to its offerings.
