Less than six months after news came that they'd be opening inside a former burrito joint, Paris-based brand Iro will take over another restaurant: The now-closed, 50-year-old Viand Café—reportedly Michael Bloomberg's favorite.

Commercial Observer reports that Iro will join Madison Avenue neighbors Intermix, Christian Louboutin, Lilly Pulitzer, and other high-end shops. Once it opens later this year, it'll be the brand's third store in the city, after the existing boutique in Soho and the Upper West Side (the burrito joint one), which is slated to open in September.

And it looks like they had heavy competition for the space: "This store was only on the market for a short time, which is a sign of how desirable this location is for fashion designers around the world," said one of the developers involved in the deal. Desirable for families, too, it seems: Iro will eventually become the base of a six-story multi-family building.
