Crate & Barrel's Flagship Is Closing, So Everything Is Discounted (Updated)

New, 2 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Update: On Tuesday, July 28th, Crate & Barrel unexpectedly closed ahead of schedule. The original article is below.

There's just six days left to shop the huge Crate & Barrel store at 650 Madison Avenue—as previously reported, the home goods brand's last day here is this Sunday, August 2nd. And a tipster pointed out to us that the location is in clearance mode, with signage out front indicating that everything inside is 40% off its marked price, and furniture floor samples are available as well.

"Thank you to all of our neighborhood friends and to the world of tourists who have visited us over the years for your loyalty at this location," one sign commemorating its 20 years here reads. And as we get closer to the weekend, be on the lookout for even further price reductions.
