When the company that organizes sample sales at Chelsea Market was dreaming up its Christmas-spanning sale that kicked off yesterday afternoon, it was probably imagining shoppers looking to add an extra layer at the beginning of winter, not shedding them in this unseasonably warm month. So when you pop by to check out its extra-discounted overstock over the next few days, expect to see merchandise that corresponds to the date, but not necessarily the forecast.
Along the left side of the sale space, you'll find a variety of women's Andrew Marc leather jackets ($199), short jackets with fur hoods ($199), long bubble coats ($129), and WII8 By Walter heavy parkas ($95) Don't worry about memorizing those prices: everything is tagged with a colored dot that corresponds to price lists posted along the wall. The next two racks are dedicated to 360 Sweater Skull Cashmere sweaters ($89), and there's a full range of sizes to shop.
Men have a much better selection to shop from. In addition to the Andrew Marc outerwear ($79—$169), shoppers will find short-sleeved ($29) and long-sleeved knits ($39), sportcoats and blazers ($129), light outerwear ($79), Saks Fifth Avenue outerwear ($149), Kent & Curwen outerwear ($149), and suits ($199). We noticed that each offering had a full range of sizes. Click through the gallery above to see a few items available.
