Finally, 935 Madison Avenue has a tenant. WWD reports that Moynat, a French luxury leather goods house that dates back to 1849, is planning to open here in time for the next New York Fashion Week in February. It's the brand's first freestanding store in the US (it previously popped up at Dover Street Market), and will be right across the street from Apple.

"It's a very big step," Moynat CEO Guillaume Davin told the paper. "It's a very residential area, and the main target will be New Yorkers...We really believe in the area, and the atmosphere is really, really charming." Expect to see a smattering of Manhattan-exclusive products — and expect them to be really expensive, too.

Moynat isn't the only French import headed here: The fashion paper also noted that a Dior Beauty boutique is headed to the World Trade Center area. Though an opening date wasn't specified, it's likely that we won't see it until early next year.
