Just kidding! Asics isn't closing up shop after all. We thought that the legal battle between the activewear brand and Windsor Financial Group (the company in charge of its retail operations) didn't look promising for the Asics when its new mega-location closed suddenly, but all isn't lost — the sneaker seller quickly reopened its Meatpacking District location on Wednesday.

The timing really couldn't have been worse, according to WWD, since Asics America Corp. is the official footwear and apparel partner of this weekend's New York City Marathon. "There's no impediment to business because of this suit and this is a signal to New York that we're open for business during marathon week," said Gene McCarthy, the brand's new CEO, said to the paper, refusing to go into further detail about the controversy. This store is situated next to its "world's largest selfie stick" currently set up in Gansevoort Plaza.

They also have a 3,000-square foot Asics shop at the TCS New York City Marathon Health & Wellness Expo at the Javits Center showing off its marathon-branded merchandise. And for those who are sticking around post-race, the brand's got a big warehouse sale coming up on Tuesday.
